Salem resident Joseph Hedlund Johnson walks out of the Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse after an appearance in federal court on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010. After Johnson passed a note to a flight attendant on a recent Hawaiian Airlines flight out of Portland, the pilot decided to turn the plane around.
